Multipurpose Roof Rack Systems

Multipurpose Roof Rack Systems are designed to carry a variety of items by adding or changing attachments to the basic rack. These systems are generally more expensive than Single-sport racks but will save you money, time and aggravation over the long haul. And since the rack makers don't know what you might put on them, the multi-sport designs are generally more functional and rugged. However, if you are only going to carry a couple of bikes or skis and snowboards on vacation once or twice a year, a are designed to carry a variety of items by adding or changing attachments to the basic rack. Hitch Rack Systems

Putting your valuable sports investments on the top of your car is generally best because it keeps them out of harms way (imagine a rear end collision with your $2,500 Serotta bike hanging off the back). Needless to say, some toys won't travel on the back (like a sea kayak). On the other hand, it's not always easy to get on top of your Suburban to load a couple of Schwinn Beach Cruisers for a day in the park. If you have a trailer hitch or rear mounted spare tire and you want to carry bikes, skis and/or snowboards, there are multi-sport racks for just this purpose.

Trunk Rack Systems

When speed and ease are your top priorities our trunk mount racks are the perfect option. We sell trunk rack systems from both Thule and Yakima ranging from $65 - $140. It is best before selecting a trunk rack system from either manufacturer to consult the apprpriate fitting guide to see if this option is available for your vehicle.

Locks & Accessories

Since security is always an issue when transporting sporting goods on the outside of your car, you will want to be able to lock the rack and all of the items to the vehicle. Thule and Yakima offer the convenience of a single key system so one key will operate the locks on the rack and almost all the attachments. This minimizes key ring clutter and the frustration of finding the right key for the lock. Or you can use a cable lock to secure items like bikes and canoes to a single or multi sport rack.

CRD also offers a wide variety of accessories like straps, bags, wind fairings and ski storage racks to complete your system.
